A while back, a potential client reached out about to revamp a 1950s ranch-style Houston home. Throughout the initial conversation, Katie realized the home they were chatting about was nonetheless, her childhood home! With much excitement, she agreed to take on the project. It was a “pinch me” moment to be able to bring more life to a space she knew so well and loved deeply. Today, another “pinch me” moment happened when that very house was featured in Good Housekeeping!

Read MoreOnce the wall was removed, the light that the window allowed in completely changed the space as a whole. Not only did it allow the natural color from outside in, the light seeping through the entire space made it feel so much larger than it actually was.
Read MorePrior to renovation, there was a natural sitting area off of the kitchen and we decided to transform the space into a morning room. In effort to keep the sense of nostalgia in the space, we left the built-in shelves and wood trim, and lined the shelves with vintage items and found objects.
Read MoreAs stated in House Beautiful, we made “other swaps, like replacing exposed hinges with unlacquered brass ones and adding Carrera marble countertops, to invoke the old-world soul the clients were used to after living in their previous 100-year-old home. Katie said it best: “Everything you touch in there will age well. It feels like it's all been part of the house since the beginning.”
